You want the user to be able to return from linked sites and to add THE HUMAN TOUCH
(30). You also want your site to be listed by as many search engines as possible and to be near the top of the
lists.
How do you make your site more useful and interesting? How do you get search engines to notice your site and rank
it highly against common queries?
Therefore
Always include many links to other sites that may interest potential users. Avoid linking to sites that disable
the BACK BUTTON (35). Test the site thoroughly for broken links. Repeat the
tests at every update, in case linked sites have changed.
We need to interest the visitor and make him want to be a RETURN VISITOR (68).
Search engines use multiple criteria to rank web sites against common queries. One criterion is the number of
links out to other sites. But beware if you link to sites that do not exist some engines will not list you or downgrade
your relevance ranking. Also sites that you linked to successfully may disappear of relocate.
