Member of the editorial boards of the international journals Expert Systems and Fuzzy Sets and Systems (1986-1998). Has served on the programme committees of a number of international conferences including SCOOP, AIS, AIEng, OOIS, ES9x (Programme chair 1991, Applications chair 1993), Object Expo Europe (Technical chair 1994 and 1995), TOOLS Europe (Programme co-chair 1995 and 1996, Tutorials chair 2001) and others.
